American Airlines Launches AAdvantage Business Select Tier
American Airlines has introduced a new AAdvantage Business Select tier for high-spending companies. This program, already rewarding businesses and travelers with AAdvantage miles and Loyalty Points for business travel bookings, now offers enhanced benefits for those exceeding $250,000 in annual spending. The existing AAdvantage Business program requires at least five registered travelers and $5,000 in spending to unlock mile redemption and employee transfer options; however, this threshold is waived for Citi® / AAdvantage® Business World Elite Mastercard® cardholders. The new Select tier provides significant advantages, including exclusive savings of up to 4% on eligible fares, preferred Group 5 boarding for travelers, and immediate access to using company-earned miles for free travel or employee transfers. This contrasts with the standard tier, where access to these benefits is typically tied to meeting spending and redemption criteria. All AAdvantage Business members continue to earn one AAdvantage mile per dollar spent on eligible travel, with registered travelers also accumulating additional Loyalty Points. While targeted at businesses with substantial travel budgets, the program remains free to join and offers potential rewards even for companies that don't meet the Select tier's spending threshold. The program also offers a suite of management tools for reporting and traveler management. Essentially, American Airlines is incentivizing high-volume business travel with a premium tier offering significant cost savings and travel perks.
