Chase Cardholders Get Exclusive Access to The Shops at Chase
Chase has launched The Shops at Chase, an online shopping platform exclusively for its cardmembers. This platform allows cardholders to use Ultimate Rewards points or their Chase card to purchase items from a curated selection of brands across various categories, including travel, home, electronics, retail, fitness, and more. Initially launched with 15 brands, The Shops at Chase recently expanded its offerings to include 20 more, bringing the total number of brands to 35. Some of the notable brands added include Aesop, Boll & Branch, Coach, Dell, Samsung, and many others. The platform builds upon the success of the existing Apple Ultimate Rewards store. While offering convenience and the ability to utilize rewards points, concerns have been raised regarding pricing. Comparisons show that some items are priced higher on The Shops at Chase compared to other retailers like Amazon, potentially negating the value proposition. For example, a Samsonite suitcase is priced significantly higher on the platform. A $250 credit is offered to Sapphire Reserve cardholders after spending $75,000, but given the pricing discrepancies, the usefulness of this credit is questionable. Currently, cardmembers can enjoy a 15% discount on select products from brands like CALPAK, Dyson, Solo Stove, and Therabody until July 11th. The Shops at Chase is accessible through Chase.com and the Chase Mobile app, with eligible cards including Chase Freedom, Sapphire, and Ink cards. However, the point redemption value appears to be limited to 1 cent per point. Overall, The Shops at Chase provides a unique shopping experience for Chase cardholders, but careful consideration of pricing is advised before making purchases.
