Citi's new Strata Elite card, launching soon, boasts an 80,000 ThankYou points welcome bonus (100,000 for CitiGold members) but comes with a hefty $595 annual fee. CitiGold members also receive a $145 annual fee discount. The card offers lucrative earning potential with 12x points on hotels, car rentals, and attractions booked through Citi Travel; 6x on airfare booked through Citi Travel; 6x at restaurants on Citi Nights (Fridays and Saturdays, 6 PM-6 AM); 3x at restaurants otherwise; and 1.5x on all other purchases. A compelling suite of benefits includes complimentary Priority Pass Select, a $300 annual hotel credit, up to $200 in annual statement credits on select brands (1stDibs, American Airlines, Best Buy, Future Personal Training, Live Nation), Admirals Club access (four annual passes), potential Strata Lounge access (pending lounge development), up to $120 in Global Entry/TSA PreCheck credit, and a $200 annual Blacklane credit. While the card's high annual fee may deter some, the extensive travel and lifestyle benefits could be attractive to high-spending consumers.
