Allegiant Expands Florida Flights with 7 New Nonstop Routes
Allegiant Air is expanding its Florida presence with seven new nonstop routes connecting twelve cities across the United States. These new routes, launching this fall, will offer convenient, nonstop service to popular leisure destinations, solidifying Allegiant's position in the budget airline market. The expansion includes a new destination for Allegiant: Fort Myers, Florida, served by Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW). From Fort Myers, new routes will connect to Allentown, Pennsylvania (ABE); Appleton, Wisconsin (ATW); and Des Moines, Iowa (DSM), all beginning in late November 2025. Introductory one-way fares for these routes are as low as $69. Other new routes include Sarasota/Bradenton (SRQ) to Toledo, Ohio (TOL) for $59; Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to Fort Wayne, Indiana (FWA) for $59; New Orleans (MSY) to Punta Gorda, Florida (PGD) for $49; and Nashville (BNA) to Gulf Shores, Alabama (GUF) for $49. These routes also begin in late November 2025. To take advantage of these introductory prices, flights must be purchased by July 30, 2025, for travel by February 10, 2026. This expansion represents a significant growth strategy for Allegiant, focusing on underserved markets and leisure travel. The benefits for passengers include lower fares and increased accessibility to popular vacation destinations. While the low fares are a significant advantage, potential risks include potential flight delays or cancellations, baggage fees, and potential limitations on amenities compared to larger airlines. The expansion highlights Allegiant's commitment to connecting smaller cities with popular tourist areas in Florida and beyond.
