This swift integration, mere months after the brand's $355 million acquisition in late July, demonstrates efficiency. Marriott's strategic move involves owning the citizenM brand while the original sellers retain ownership or leases of the physical hotels and operate them. Marriott anticipates a significant $30 million annual return in franchise fees from existing and three under-construction properties, yielding an immediate 8% ROI, with future expansion planned through additional Marriott-franchised citizenM sites.

For Marriott Bonvoy members, citizenM hotels offer standard earning rates: 10 base points per dollar spent and one elite night credit per night, mirroring brands like Moxy. Elite members receive specific benefits: Gold members get a 250-point Elite Welcome Gift, while Platinum members receive 500 points or a $10 per person food and beverage credit. While a free breakfast benefit is not offered, the F&B credit can be applied. The “Guaranteed Room Type” benefit applies, with a $25 compensation for not receiving the booked bed type. In cases of room unavailability, Silver and Gold members receive $100, and Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador members get $100 plus 90,000 points, alongside a free night elsewhere and a refund.
