Hilton’s Outset, Heathrow FX, IndiGo’s New Mumbai Route
Hilton has unveiled its latest brand, the ‘Outset Collection by Hilton,' designed to integrate unique, independent hotels into its global system. Positioned alongside existing ‘collection' brands like Tapestry and Curio, Outset targets properties with distinctive character that don't fit traditional Hilton molds. The brand emphasizes upscale finishes, story-driven designs, and flexible offerings, such as varied food and beverage concepts tailored to market demand. While allowing hotels to retain their identity, it provides owners with Hilton's quality and extensive reach. Hilton sees significant potential, with 60 properties currently in development and a target of 500 across the US and Canada, though it faces competition from similar concepts like Hyatt's Unscripted and Marriott's new Series brand.
In airport news, Heathrow is set to replace Travelex with Global Exchange as its foreign exchange service provider from January 2026, ending Travelex's 39-year presence. Global Exchange will introduce a digital-led offering, including advanced ATMs, self-service dispensers, and online Click & Collect services across 23 sites. While the Avios deal with Travelex concluded years ago, Global Exchange will integrate with Heathrow Rewards and may explore new airline loyalty partnerships.
Finally, Indian carrier IndiGo is launching daily flights from London Heathrow to Mumbai starting October 26th, utilizing Norse Atlantic's Boeing 787 aircraft. This expansion follows the introduction of Manchester to Mumbai flights in July and a new Manchester to Delhi service. Passengers can opt for ‘IndiGoStretch,' Norse Atlantic's Premium Economy cabin, offering enhanced legroom, reclinable seating, priority services, and a curated dining experience with Indian brands. However, the service lacks a business class. IndiGo's partnership with Virgin Atlantic allows for earning Virgin Points, though its scope for non-connecting flights is unclear. Air Canada is also re-launching its Heathrow to Mumbai service this month.
