EasyJet Flex Pass & Hyatt Double Points: Key Travel Updates
easyJet has launched a new ‘Flex Pass' ancillary option, available for £10 during the booking process. This pass allows passengers to change their flight's date, time, and even departure/arrival airports without incurring change fees, up to two hours before departure. This initiative appears while easyJet's ‘Flight Club' loyalty scheme remains uncertain, with Flex Pass offering a benefit often associated with such programs.
However, the ‘Flex Pass' has key limitations. While the change fee is waived, passengers must pay any fare difference, which can be substantial for last-minute changes. Only one free change is permitted per booking, and it applies to all passengers on that booking; individual changes necessitate separate ticket purchases. Furthermore, there's no refund if moving to a cheaper flight. The £10 fee seems consistent across various routes, such as Gatwick to Amsterdam or Larnaca.
Concurrently, World of Hyatt has extended its ‘double points' promotion for hotels in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. The offer now grants members double base points—10 points per dollar spent—on eligible stays until December 20, 2025. Registration has been pushed back to December 6, 2025. Existing registrants do not need to re-register, and there's no requirement to rebook existing stays to qualify.
This promotion offers significant value, providing an estimated 16% return on pre-tax spending, with elite status holders earning even more. Reward nights are included, with eligible room charges earning double points. A cap of 20,000 bonus points applies, equating to $4,000 in pre-tax spending. Members are advised to register before any eligible stay to capitalize on this extended offer.
