American Express is offering a bonus for adding employee cards to select business accounts. Eligible cards include the Amex Business Platinum, Amex Business Gold, and Blue Business Plus. The promotion allows cardholders to earn 15,000 Membership Rewards points per employee card added, up to a maximum of 75,000 points (five employee cards). To qualify for the bonus, each employee card must spend $4,000 in eligible purchases within the first six months of card membership. This equates to earning 3.75x points on all spending, making it a potentially valuable offer for businesses with significant spending. The offer is targeted, meaning not all cardholders will be eligible; users must log in to check their eligibility status. Importantly, the offer is not transferable, and only spending on the newly added employee cards counts towards the $4,000 requirement; the primary cardholder's spending or spending on other employee cards already on the account will not count. Points are credited to the primary cardholder's account within 8-12 weeks of the employee card meeting the spending threshold. While this offer is not as lucrative as previous promotions, it still presents a significant opportunity for businesses that meet the spending requirements, particularly when combined with existing welcome bonuses.
