CB&S Bank Review

Headquartered in Russellville, Ala., CB&S Bank’s roots date back to 1906. Since then, it has grown from an institution with just $25,000 in capital to a sprawling bank network with $1.9 billion in assets. With a robust brick-and-mortar presence of more than 50 branches across Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee, CB&S Bank offers an array of accounts for individuals and businesses.

While its services and products are only available in the states with bank branches, CB&S Bank is certainly worth considering for those located in the Southeast. Its product lineup includes everything from interest-bearing checking accounts to business money market accounts. Although CB&S Bank also offers a number of other financial products and services, this review focuses on its checking, savings and CD accounts.

Is CB&S Bank right for you?

CB&S offers a variety of deposit accounts for individuals and businesses in three states. While its menu of accounts can certainly be a good thing — choice is generally good for the consumer — the sheer number of products offered can be dizzying, especially as many of the features each account offers overlap.

If you’re looking for a simplified checking or savings account with higher interest rates, you may be better off looking elsewhere. However, if you value a bank network with a strong brick-and-mortar presence — especially in an era where physical branches are vanishing more and more — CB&S Bank likely has the account you’re looking for.
